Mountain View Montessori's Focus

Mountain View Montessori's Focus
Mountain View Montessori focuses on physical, cognitive, social and emotional aspects of an individual child. Their curriculum is based from Montessori learning materials that go hand-in-hand with common core. Inside the classroom the students are of mixed ages and the work is project-based, creative, hands-on, incorporates group work, and research. They also add uninterrupted blocks of work time where students are able to choose what they work on during that designated time. A positive environment and support is ensured for students to meet their individualized goals and have the room to excel and their own level.
In addition to the student’s curriculum they are taught to learn skill and be successful. The Montessori method builds the confidence they need to accomplish anything, experience to apply and adapt into situations, and be ready to move on, whatever step that may be. They also teach the concept of learning, gathering, and mastering a task is the reward. Being able to accomplish whatever it is they are seeking is the benefit before they move onward to their next goal. The effort is to create an inviting environment that promotes children to want to explore and do more.
Due to the school’s uniqueness they offer a prospective parent meeting each month. These meetings are information sessions to allow parents to get the chance to understand the structure of the school, learning techniques, and classroom environment.
